Get a bike ride into downtown or meet a historical architect if schedule allows. Then eat dinner on way back to house. The first night due to the long travel day, we do a rooftop happy house at the house.
Day 2- Breakfast at house and then off to Hemingway Marina. We pass by the Miramar district and have an ocean side lunch. From there we ride to the river forest. A night out at the Factory.
Day 3- Breakfast and then we do a thorough ride into downtown. We then take the ferry to the Christ Statute and Fort. Then onto Cojimar a seaside village. There is a place where we have a rooftop lunch. Then back to downtown. We take a cab downtown to the Floridaita for a daquiri then to dinner in Old Town.
Day 4- Breakfast and we take a cab to the Hemingway house in the morning. Then we do an afternoon ride near Havana University and downtown. This is the day we do most of our shopping at the market. Get a coffee at the Malecon. We go to a great local bar called the Yellow Submarine that evening.
Day 5- Open morning to do as you please before we head to the airport.
*Note- This is Cuba and their since of timing is not the same as ours. You have to be flexible and open to change regarding schedules and times. Please do not schedule your flights to and from Miami on the same days of the Havana flights. Delays are common.
Cycling attire- we suggest you wear more casual cycling clothes since we will be going into places to eat and buildings. Formal cycling clothing sticks out. Look at some of the photos to get an idea of what to wear.
We provide flat pedals on the bikes due to all the stop and go riding. However, 2 of the days you could clip in if you like due to the distance. So if you want to bring your bike shoes and pedals, we would be happy to add to our bikes. We provide Jamis Satellite and Ventura Road Bikes.
