Day 1- Meet at arranged location at Miami Airport/Ft Lauderdale at a time to be determined. Depart to Havana for the 45 minute flight. Meet guides at airport and drive to house we are renting. Get a bike ride into downtown or meet a historical architect if schedule allows. Then eat dinner on way back to house. The first night due to the long travel day, we do a rooftop happy house at the house or go to the Hotel Nacional.
Day 2- Breakfast and then we do a thorough ride into downtown. We then take the ferry to the Christ Statute and Fort. Then onto Cojimar a seaside village. There is a place where we have a rooftop lunch. Then back to downtown. We go to the Art Factory that evening.
Day 3- Breakfast at house and then
off to Hemingway Marina. We pass by the Miramar district and have an
ocean side lunch. From there we ride to the river forest. A night out at
the Yellow Submarine.
Day 4- Breakfast and we take a cab to the Hemingway house in the morning. Or you can make a free day of it and we head to the airport at noon.
*Note- This is Cuba and their since of timing is not the same as ours. You have to be flexible and open to change regarding schedules and times. Please do not schedule your flights to and from Miami on the same days of the Havana flights. Delays are common.
Cycling attire- we suggest you wear more casual cycling clothes since we will be going into places to eat and buildings. Formal cycling clothing sticks out. Look at some of the photos to get an idea of what to wear.
We provide flat pedals on the bikes due to all the stop and go riding. However, 2 of the days you could clip in if you like due to the distance. So if you want to bring your bike shoes and pedals, we would be happy to add to our bikes. We provide Jamis Satellite and Ventura Road Bikes.
